Happy New Year!

Enjoyed Lunch Out

It was a beautiful day and I thought it would be nice to go out for lunch. Cathy and I headed out to Bricklane Restaurant & Bar.  We both had Beer Battered Fresh Fish & Chips, served with tartare sauce and creamy coleslaw and it was very nice. We had a Isaac Berry Cider with it.

We then headed over to the mall to window shop at a few things then we sat outside in the sunshine for a bit before we headed home.

Merry Christmas Readers!!

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas to all my Family here and overseas.  Here is my christmas decorations and my small christmas tree, something different this time.

I spent the day with family in Orewa, the weather was pretty good. We all enjoyed a late Christmas lunch which was glazed ham, green salad, prawns, some turkey with stuffing, potato salad and roasted vegetables with some sauces. Lunch was very nice and I ate just enough to spare room for some fruit salad, christmas pudding and ice cream. I enjoyed a few glasses of Rosé wine.

We watched and helped Charlotte open up her presents and she got a lot of cute things to play with. I gave her a few soft toys and she got some other toys from Mum and Dad. We then skyped with Anna and the girls, Elliott and Piper were sharing stories with Charlotte it was funny. Had a good Christmas day with all.

I Won This!

It’s Christmas Eve already and I got my Jo Seagar Bakes book, it even has her signature on it.

I won it from Columbus Coffee facebook page when they asked us “How will you share your Christmas spirit for 2014?

I said: I’ve been spring cleaning my place for the past 2 months, I’ve donated clothes to the Philippines for those in need, donating other things to The Salvation Army and Hospice. I have a physical disability so donating these things to those less fortunate than me, makes me happy. Hoping they have a Merry Christmas too 🙂

Thanks Columbus Coffee I will be making some yummy goodies from her book!

Massive Spring Clean Complete!

Over the past two months maybe more, I’ve been doing a massive spring clean out of everything. I had three areas to sort, stuff to donate, stuff to bin and a couple things to sell.

I started with my clothes which seemed easier than i thought, I gave four boxes of clothes away. I then went through everything else in my bedroom and sorted it into the above three area’s most of it was to donate.

I then did the same in the spare room, this was a big job and I got rid of pretty much all of it. This involved VHS movies and motor sport, computer games, board games, puzzles, photo frames, storage units and a whole lot more. I then cleared out my storage drawers of stuff and that involved a lot of ripping up paper. I even found some very old computer floppy disks and binned those. It’s amazing what I found sitting around over 15+ years!

Then I sorted out the main room which was ok as I don’t have a lot in there, just moving things around. I got rid of my shelving unit and Mum and Dad gave me one of theres which I can now fit the things I wanted in it, without having to get a second unit. Might look at getting 2-3 floating shelves to put above that unit down the track.

I even sorted out my bathroom cabinet and found medication from years ago and other stuff I don’t use, so most of that all went into the bin. Last of all I cleared out things I had in the garage, wasn’t much but it went to the bin or dump. Once I started this whole thing, I had to keep going and complete the mission I was on and it felt good too!

But from now on I won’t be keeping things I don’t need or use as it will just sit around taking up room or put into storage which I want to stay clear of. I only buy things I need so that bit is not to hard for me.

Overall I donated all the clothes and some other things to the Philippines for those in need, donating other things to The Salvation Army and Hospice. Donating these things to those less fortunate than myself, makes me happy.

Gloria’s Grill Filipino Restaurant

Was out and about in Henderson today with Cathy.  We did a few things at the mall and checked out the Christmas decorations all over the mall, red and gold this year which looks really nice.

Cathy wanted to take me to the Gloria’s Restaurant Grill for lunch as it serves Filipino food.  I really enjoy this food which is Cathys ‘comfort food’.  The lady was really nice and helped explain to me what was on the menu, Cathy was able to help too.  We both ordered the Plater 2: x2 chicken wings, fresh Lumpiang Sariwa (Fresh Egg Roll) with peanut sauce which was so yummy!! with plain rice and a dessert.  We got some free tasters of sweet food and we ended up buying some.  I would go back again for sure.  I thanked the lady in Tagalog and she was impressed! as she doesn’t get that a lot from customers. Cathy and I then got the train back.

Football Practice, Prize Giving and Dinner

I went to the last football practice of the year with Mum, Dad and Cathy. A good turn out of player’s today and we had three games. The games went pretty good along with good team work. We each had to be subbed off but not to many times. The team I was in managed to win all games with the other team scoring 0 points in each game. Our team must have worked really well together.

Team Player’s of 2014 (Missing Denise and Michelle)

We then headed off to the RSA Restaurant where the Prize giving and Dinner was held. Had a bit of a wait before things kicked off though. After prize giving we had dinner. I had the Carvery and it was so yummy along with a nice fairly full glass of wine with it. Dessert was not what was on the menu, they served us a trifle sort of thing in a glass and I just had the jelly, the rest was humm yuck!
