ICC Cricket World Cup

Dad and I went to the ICC Cricket World Cup BlackCaps vs Australia game at Eden Park. The stadium was packed and it 27 degrees outside, we were in the shade so we were lucky. The game started with Australia batting.

The BlackCaps won the game just, with one wicket!! Amazing atmosphere at Eden Park!
BlackCaps – 152/9
Australia – 151/10

Hard Drives and Backing Up Stuff

My external hard drive (HD) which I split into two partitions, one for Time Machine backups and the other for my own stuff has corrupt. Possibly the whole hard drive is corrupt. I’ve learnt that it’s better to have one hard drive for Time Machine backups and another external hard drive for backing up any personal stuff.

I brought two hard drives after doing a bit of research on backups. I’m soon going to upgrade my iMac so I need to backup things and I’m doing that process now. I’ve decided to start ‘fresh’ on my new iMac and get the Applications I only need and use, add files from hard drive to mac that I use and leave the rest on my personal backup hard drive. It’s just like cleaning out my home of junk I don’t need or use anymore, this is the same thing for my Mac.

Dinner with Tim and Val

Tim and Val arrived this afternoon, they had been touring the South Island first. Mum had picked them up from the airport and they came over to my place. Dad and I arrived soon after, I had been at powerchair football. Ben and Ang arrived as well with Charlotte. We all had a catch up and then headed out for Dinner at Bricklane. We all had a nice time and a yummy dinner. It was good to see them again!

Ben’s Birthday

Happy Birthday Ben!!

Ben and Ang came over to spend some time with me and for me to have some time with Charlotte. Charlotte was asleep when they arrived and didn’t wake up for an hour which I don’t think was the plan HAHA. I gave Ben his birthday gift which he liked and then we headed over to the Cafe to get some Coffee and Hot Chocolates and some food. Ang said Charlotte was still sleeping so we enjoyed our food and talked for awhile.

As Charlotte was waking up we got the bubbles out and she loved them, she even popped a few. She crawls around pretty fast now and she is almost walking on her own, it’s just that first step! I enjoyed the company and will see them all again next week sometime.

Mission Bay

Dad picked me up and we headed down to Mission Bay where we met up with Mum, John, Joan, Ben, Ang and little Charlotte. John and Joan went for a walk along the bay and I met up with them on their way back. We watched some beach volleyball which looked fun and competitive. Before I did, I spent some time with Charlotte taking her around the water fountain, looking at some flying kites and getting lots of smiles and cuddles from her. Ben took her for a walk to try and get her to sleep which was not going to happen, so it was lunch time for Charlotte.

Later we all headed over the road to Portofino and enjoyed a yummy lunch. Joan and I shared a bottle of Rose wine between us and I had Grilled Fish of the Day on rice with a garlic sauce and rocket salad and it was so yummy I ate everything! Everyone else enjoyed there lunch as well, Charlotte slept right through which was nice for Ben and Ang. We then walked around a bit before heading home. I didn’t want to let Charlotte go as she was giving me cuddles and was so good. It was my last day with John and Joan as they were heading off to travel down towards the South island tomorrow. Joan came with Dad and I, to drop me off at home.

Uncle John and Auntie Joan

My Uncle John and Auntie Joan arrived the other day from Ireland to spend some time with us and relax. It was good to see them again. We had a nice lunch at the Cafe and enjoyed a good catch up.
