Boundary Fence is finally completed!!

This fence is on one side of the driveway then across the front between front house and the two Housing NZ units. Most of this fence was broken and not much left then the massive wind storm last year blew the rest of it down. My neighbour and I had no privacy. I could see the road from my front door. After all my determination and weekly communication and updates from my Tenancy Manager things got done.

I want to thank Huhana for contacting the TOP people in Housing NZ in hopes this would push things along. I got a call from Housing NZ the next day saying they will start the process of the boundary fence and other fence. FENCE 2 is still in the discussion process.

Chair Adjustments

I had some problems getting out of my new chair on my own in the weekend so was back in my old chair. Steve from Invacare came round to do some adjustments on the chair to enable me to get in and out of it for all my transfers, that was his main focus for today. He managed to get it right for me and I got back in the chair. Steve is great at his work and what he does.

When my support worker came I then transferred out of the chair to see if I could do it on my own, I did this twice to make sure and it was all good. From today I can now use my new TDXSP 2 every day. The seating will take time to adjust to for me as it’s slightly setup different to my old setup. I sit lower as well which makes some transfers easier and getting under tables easier. More adjustments will be done over the next month till I feel comfortable.

In my New Chair!!

My wheelchair therapist came out this afternoon and made a new foam wedge and put it under my cushion. I then finally got in the chair, loving the PURPLE and GREEN rims!!!
